Setup Your Outlook XP/2003 Email
Account:
In
order to set up Microsoft Outlook XP® to retrieve your email messages from
your POP3 mail account follow these steps:
- Open
Outlook XP
- Go
to the menu option entitled "Tools", then select the option "E-mail Accounts"
- On
the first screen that displays, select the option under the heading,
E-mail, "Add a new e-mail account".

- At
the screen that follows, select the option for a POP3 server
type.

- From here, you will need to enter the following information:
User Information:
Your Name: Type your name as you would like it to appear to
your mail recipients.
E-mail Address: Type your e-mail address as yourname@yourwebsite.com
Server Information: Type your incoming and outgoing mail
servers as mail.yourwebsite.com.
Logon Information:
User Name: Type your full e-mail address (i.e. yourname@yourwebsite.com)
Password: Type the password given at the time of your account
setup.
Click the More Settings... option to go to the next step...

- Click the tab across the tab entitled, "Outgoing Server". Check the box
labeled, "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".

- Click "OK" to
close this screen. Proceeding to the next step of the wizard
will prompt you to select "Finish". Go ahead and click, Finish then
close Outlook XP and restart the program.
- Almost
Done! The next step is to finish the wizard and log in to check
your mail. Therefore, select "Finish" on the remaining screen,
then close the Account Setup window.
- Select
the button entitled, "Send and Receive", when the system prompts
you for an account name and password, enter your full email
address (i.e. yourname@yourwebsite.com), and then your password.
- At
this point your email messages will begin to populate your inbox,
and your email account setup has now been completed!
