To Create a Shortcut to Windows Explorer® on Your Desktop:

  1. Click Start | Programs| Accessories | Windows Explorer



  2. With the Windows Explorer button highlighted, hold down the right mouse button and drag it to your desktop and then release the mouse button. You will see a prompt like the one below. Choose Create Shortcut Here.



  3. This is what your shortcut will look like on your desktop. Notice the small arrow in the bottom left of the icon. This indicates a shortcut.

To Create a Shortcut on Your Taskbar:

  1. Click Start | Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer



  2. With the Windows Explorer button highlighted, hold down the right mouse button and drag it to the toolbar at the bottom of your screen and release the mouse button. You will see a prompt like the one below. Choose Create Shortcut Here. Notice the black line. This indicates the position of where your shortcut will be placed.



  3. This is what your shortcut will look like on your taskbar. 



  4. This is an example of what the Windows Explorer window looks like.
